RESULTS

In recent years, the School’s results at both GCSE and Advanced level have been especially pleasing.

In 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2002, Grammar School pupils achieved 100% pass rate in the Government GCSE league tables.

The Advanced level results have been equally excellent, with all pupils being offered places at University, since the new sixth form opened in 1997. Some of our sixth form students have actually achieved 100% in their Science and Mathematics Advanced level modules. However, since the Advanced Level league tables only include those schools entering larger numbers of students, our excellent results do not appear.

ADMISSION

The usual time of entry into the College is September, and the normal age at entry is eleven. Older students can be accepted if there is a vacancy. There is an Entrance Examination for students wishing to start in year seven. Older students must satisfy the College that they are able to maintain a good standard of work.

Applications from Sixth Form students are welcomed and individual arrangements regarding entry qualifications, courses available and fees, can be obtained from the Principal.

UNIFORM

The College uniform, which all students below year twelve must wear, may be obtained from the College, at any time throughout the year. Arrangements are made for new students to purchase all badged and other major items (blazer, tie, sportswear etc.) prior to commencing. Many other items (shirts, blouses, etc.) may be obtained from any of the usual school-wear retailers. The co-operation of all parents is expected in the maintenance of a high standard of uniform. Sixth form students may wear a grey suit and are expected to dress appropriately at all times.
